Adelaide Hospitality and Tourism School is recruiting for passionate and able trainers to deliver Western hospitality and cooking skills in multiple cities in China.
This exciting opportunity is available for suitably skilled and qualified chefs and hospitality staff to conduct training for our client based in China.
The role will involve contract training at a fixed or flexible location in China. Interpreters and support team provided, it is not a requirement to speak Mandarin.
Multiple locations to choose, program and new vacancies available each month.
Successful candidates will have a passion for teaching and developing students. A keen interest in hospitality industry trends, origins of Western traditions and techniques as well as the influence of International culture on current culinary demands.
You must have an interest in Chinese culture, languages, people and learning.
AHTS staff thrive on adaptability and openness to new approaches and ideas. You must have a desire to develop professionally and the ability to contribute positively to a culture of continuous learning with AHTS!
• Training and assessment of theory and practical kitchen or hospitality sessions
• Recording, resulting and following up learner progress
• Liaising with administration and program coordinators
• Assist with training program and menu development
• Development and enhancement of learning and assessment materials
• Control and stock ordering
• Ensure that high quality training and assessment standards are maintained
Skills and requirements
• Minimum 10 years’ industry experience
• Experience in previous training role
• Current Certificate III in Commercial Cookery/Hospitality or above
• Current Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery/Hospitality or above
• Current Certificate IV Training and Assessment or above
Essential skills specific to cookery trainers;
Vast knowledge of basic and advanced methods of cookery across all commercial cookery areas. Desserts, mains, appetisers, cheese and more. Event management and coordination is essential.
Specific to hospitality;
Advanced knowledge of espresso coffee, wine, bar operations, food and beverage service. Experience in café and fine dining essential.

Our friendly and helpful foreign and domestic staff will help you with any questions or concerns and assist you in adjusting to life in China.
We are an ever-expanding private Registered Training Organisation based in Australia. Each trainer is responsible for teaching one or two 3 or 5 hours sessions per day based on the curriculum provided. Rotational 3 to 4 days per week. Class sizes range from 12-16 students as well as Chinese support staff.
Flexible short-term or long-term contracts available
Flexible and rotational shifts between 8am – 8pm over a 7-day roster
Meals provided on duty
Students are mainly adult leisure learners with an interest in cooking, food and wine
